How does it work?
Your guide starts with a short introduction to snowshoe walking, then leads you on a route chosen according to snow, weather and the group's level. Along the way you discover the mountains in winter: wildlife (chamois, mountain hares), reading tracks in the snow, life in the alpine pastures. Climbs stay gentle and the pace suits everyone.
Evening snowshoe outing
For something a little more magical, choose the evening snowshoe hike: the mountain goes quiet, the snow crunches underfoot and, on clear nights, the stars come out over the Aravis. Perfect with friends, with teenagers or as a highlight of a corporate event.

Prefer to head out on your own? Rent snowshoes at the Takamaka agency in La Clusaz, a few minutes from Le Grand-Bornand. Stay on marked trails and check snow conditions before setting off.

- Ski clothing or warm waterproof layers, gloves and a hat
- Waterproof hiking boots or snow boots (avoid very wide moon boots)
